Willie James Hueston

August 8, 1933 — January 3, 2017

On that glorious day, August 8, 1933, Willie James Hueston entered into the physical realm of life. Born to Phinazee Hueston, Sr. and Willie Mae Doyle Huston, both of whom preceded him death in Waynesboro, Georgia. He was also, preceded in death by his brother Phinazee Hueston, Jr.
Willie acknowledged and accepted Christ at an early age. He attended public schools in both Savannah, Georgia as well as Miami, Florida. He also attended Florida International University in Miami, Florida where he received a degree in Criminal Justice. Willie enlisted in the United States Army in 1949 proudly serving his country and rising in rank to Sergeant 1st Class E-7 retire in 1971. Awarded the Bronze Medal of Honor during his service in the Vietnam War.
Upon retiring from the military, Willie began his second career with the Miami-Dade County Corrections Department aspiring to the rank of Captain. After an illustrious career, he retired in 1988. He was a member of Greater Love Missionary Baptist Church, Miami, Florida where he was ordained as a Deacon. In addition, he was a Freemason, active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars VFW, and The Retired Correction Officers Club.
In 2006, he and his dedicated wife of 36 years, Frances W. Hueston, relocated from Miami, Florida to Valdosta, Georgia immediately establishing fellowship with the New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. On Tuesday, January 3, 2017, Willie James Hueston made his final earthly salute and answered the call from his Heavenly Father to come home.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife Frances White Hueston, Three daughters, Brenda Hueston Jordan of Newport News, Virginia, Deborana Hueston-CarterTracy of Miami, Florida, Hanako Hueston TrudyShawn of Loganville, Georgia. Two sons, Ricky Hemingway of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Eddie Hueston of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Nine grandchildren, Semaj JordanAngela, Ariel Jordan of Hampton, Virginia, Tracy Taiwan CarterRegina of Midtown, Florida, Traceshaud CarterChevillone of Miami Gardens, Florida, Maikenya Hueston-Pugh, Tatyana Carter, Daija Hueston Carter and TaiAsia Hueston Franks and Mizaiah Hueston-Trody. Sixteen Great Grandchildren, Two sisters, Carolyn Jones of Miami Gardens, Florida and Debra Hueston of Atlanta Georgia, God Families, The Stroman's and The Washington's, along with a host nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 7, 2016 at 11:00A.M in the New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Valdosta, GA. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 6, 2016 from 6:00P.M until 8:00P.M. A graveside service will held Monday, January 9, 2016 at 1:00P.M. in the Tallahassee National Cemetery, Tallahassee, FL following cremation.
