Wilma Nell Gaskin

Wilma Nell Gaskins, 77, of Valdosta, died Wednesday, October 26th, 2011 at Langdale Hospice House, after a short illness. She was born in Vienna, Georgia, on February 17, 1934 to the late Rupert and Lucille Lupo and had lived in Valdosta since 1956. In addition to assisting her husband with the family farm, Mrs. Gaskins was also retired from the Lowndes County School system. She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church and previously was a member of Grace Baptist Church. Nell was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, J. D. Gaskins of Valdosta, and her sister, Velma Hickman of Alabama.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Morris and Anna Gaskins of Lake Park, Georgia, her daughter and son-in-law, Lynette and Bret Hendricks of Lake Park, Georgia, three grandsons, Luke Gaskins of Jennings, Florida, Justin Hendricks of Lake Park, Georgia, granddaughter, Samantha Gaskins of Lake, Florida and grandson, Pierre Hernandez and his wife, Tina of Palm Coast, Florida, granddaughters Krystal Maldonado of Lake Park, Georgia, and Nina Wisenbaker and her husband, Adam of Valdosta, Georgia, and granddaughter, Nokole Bialkoski of Lakeland, Florida, great grandson, Sergio Hernandez of Palm Coast, and great granddaughters, Amyaha Hernandez of Palm Coast, Florida, Charli Bialkoski and Danica Morrow of Lakeland, Florida. Her nephews and nieces, Lamar and Elsie Hickman of Alexander City, Alabama, Carey and Janna Hickman of Columbiana, Alabama, Lewis and Carol Hickman of Equality, Alabama, Jan and Rosemary Hickman of Nashville, Alabama, and Patricia and Stan Shelton of Fort Payne, Alabama. Two great nieces, Lacy Shelton of Overland Park, Kansas, Amber Hickman of Birmingham, Alabama, and one great nephew, Phillip Hickman of Birmingham, Alabama. Included among her family were W.E. and Marie Wacter, Bill and Nell Coody, Pam and Tim Baker, all of Lake Park, Georgia, and her many friends of "Grace".

The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, October 28, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Music Funeral Services. Graveside services will be held at Riverview Memorial Gardens at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 29th, with Pastor Eldridge Lyons of Francis Lake Baptist Church officiating. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made in her memory to the Langdale Hospice House.
