Wilmer Leroy Yeomans passed away peacefully at his home Sunday, February 11, 2007 he was 84 years old. He had lived in Lakeland since his family returned here from Jacksonville, FL in 1936. He was never married and shared his home with his Sister Brunelle until her death in 1997. He was retired from Civil Services at Moody Air Force Base and also owned and operated a flower nursery business with his sister at his home for many years. Leroy loved to fish at Banks Lake, grow a garden, ride steam locomotive trains and drive his old pickup truck which he bought new in 1965 and was still driving it till the day he died. He was preceded in death by his parents William & Alberta Yeomans, two Sisters, Evelyn Yeomans Stalvey, & Brunelle Yeomans, and one brother, Plant Freeman Yeomans. Survivors include a brother-in-Law George Stalvey of Callahan, FL, Sister-in-Law Margaret Yeomans of Lakeland, niece Dianne & Chandler Sirmans, Lakeland, GA Nephews, Tommy & Geraldine Yeomans, Lakeland, GA, Bill & Sheree Yeomans, Valdosta, GA., & Gary & Lori Yeomans of Lakeland, GA. and a number of Great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services were held Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. in the First Baptist Church in Lakeland with burial following in Greenlawn cemetery.
