Winston Edward Sirmans – 72
Of Valdosta passed away at South Georgia Medical Center on October 28, 2016. He was born in Nashville, Georgia on December 12, 1943 to the late Edward and Ruth Boyd Sirmans. Winston was a veteran of the Korean War where he served honorably in the Army from 1965-1967. He worked with National Linen Service and Alsco for 43 years before retiring in 2010. He worked many businesses in and around Valdosta including Dr's offices, Hospitals, VSU, MAFB and many restaurants. He enjoyed getting to know all his customers and was always looking for an opportunity to serve and meet the needs of others as demonstrated by his involvement in ministry through his church. As a member of the Grace Baptist Church for 28 years, he ran a bus route on Sunday mornings where he picked up mostly underprivileged children so the church could give them breakfast before the morning services. After becoming a member of the Pine Grove Community Baptist Church, he became an instrumental member of the Living Waters Ministry that focuses on feeding and clothing the less fortunate members of our community. All that knew him, knew that he loved his family, his church and the Lord. He was preceded in death by his father, a sister Gail Jordan and a grandson Alden Williams.
