He was born May 7, 1938 in Lowndes County, Georgia to the late Guy and Katie Wetherington. He was a driver with Valdosta Toyota. He is a member of Naylor Baptist Church and a Lowndes County Vikings and Georgia Bridgemen fan.

Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2009 in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial following in Good Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, September 11, 2009 from 6-8 p.m.
