W.O. "Oz" Eubanks – 88
Of Valdosta passed away Thursday, August 16, 2012 at his granddaughter's home Michelle Copeland. He was born on January 22, 1924 in Lucedale, MS to the late Hardy Napoleon & Mary Edith Havard Eubanks. Mr. Eubanks served his country proudly in the United States Army during WWII. During this time he served in the battles and campaigns at New Guinea, Southern Philippines. Also, during his time served he received several medals to include, APTO Medal; Philippine Liberation Ribbon with two Bronze Stars; Good Conduct Medal; and the World War II Victory Medal. Mr. Eubanks retired after working with the Department of the Airforce for 30 years Civil Service at Moody Airforce Base in 1983. He was a member of Airport Church of Christ. He is preceded in death by his wife, Johnnie R. Eubanks, a son, Johnny Wayne Eubanks, siblings, Boyd Eubanks, Gertrude Thigpen Osburn, Clifton Eubanks Eva, David Ray Eubanks, Dora Simmons Troy, Forest Eubanks Nita Mae, Melvin Eubanks Hazel, Mary Rose Eubanks, Robert Stone Eubanks, Betty Arden Dale, Joanne Thornton Herbert, and step granddaughter, Lindsey Hassenstab.

Mr. Eubanks was survived by his, Wife, Ola Mae Young Eubanks, Valdosta, GA; Daughter, Robin Boyd, Valdosta, GA; Grandchildren: Michelle Copeland Burt, Donna Padgett Adam, Danny Eubanks and John Eubanks, Great Grandchildren: Erin, Emmy, Grant, and Evan Copeland, Brandon and Brittany Kendricks, and David Eubanks, Step Daughters, Rhonda Taylor Coy, Valdosta, GA, Brenda Hassenstab Russ, Valdosta, GA; Step Grandchildren: Kevin Pittman Jacey, Holly Vaughn Ken, Melissa Dixon Mark, Croshay Taylor, Truett Taylor Christie; Step Great Grandchildren: Presley & Brock Pittman, Mary Dixon, Trinity, Kendall, and Cadence Taylor, and Audra Vaughn; Sister & Brother-in-law, Maxine & Robert Smith, Lucedale, MS; Brother & Sister-in-law, H.N. & Doris Eubanks, Lucedale, MS; Sister-in-law, Arlene Eubanks; A number of Nieces and Nephews

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, August 20, 2012 in Airport Church of Christ with burial to follow in Dasher Cemetery. Mr. Eubanks will be placed in the church one hour prior to services. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday, August 19, 2012 at the funeral home.
