Our Story

At a time when many funeral homes have been absorbed by large, publicly traded corporations, Music Funeral Services remains a proud, locally owned, and family-operated business. The Music family believes that by staying independent, they are better equipped to serve the families of Valdosta, Lakeland, and surrounding areas with the personal attention, compassion, and integrity that only a family-owned funeral home can provide.

Music Funeral Services was established in 1955 by the late W.G. "Glyndon" Sr. and Maxine Music in Lakeland, Georgia. Following Glyndon’s retirement in 1974, leadership passed to his son, W.G. "Dub" Music, Jr., who continued the tradition of compassionate service. In 1995, Dub’s son, Casey L. Music, joined the family business, committed to meeting the needs of every family with care and respect.

In 2012, Dub’s third son, Glyndon "Lee" Music, also joined the firm, deepening the family's commitment to serving the community. Dub retired in 2014, and Casey became the owner and operator of Music Funeral Services. In 2024, Casey’s daughter, Kaytibeth Music, became the fourth generation to join the family legacy, starting her journey as a funeral apprentice.

Over the years, both our Valdosta and Lakeland facilities have undergone thoughtful renovations. Today, they offer warm, comfortable, and home-like settings designed to provide peace and comfort to families during their time of need.

Music Funeral Services offers a full range of funeral options, including prearranged planning, cremation services, and traditional funerals held in our chapel, at the cemetery, or in a family’s home church. We also coordinate national and international transfers with professionalism and care, as well as providing our veterans with the honors they deserve.

At Music Funeral Services, we remain committed to honoring life, serving with compassion, and upholding a proud family tradition of excellence.
