Music: The Comfort Monkey

The Story of "Music", the Comfort Monkey

At Music Funeral Services, caring for families in their time of greatest need has always been our deepest calling. That legacy of compassion began with our founder, Glyndon Music—a man nicknamed “Monkey” by his loving wife, Maxine. His warm spirit, quick wit, and deep empathy made him a source of comfort for many in the Lanier County community.

In honor of his memory and the countless lives he touched, we are proud to introduce Music, the Comfort Monkey.

Music is no ordinary stuffed animal. He was created with a very special purpose: to bring comfort to children who are experiencing the loss of a parent, sibling, grandparent, or other close loved one. Grief is hard for anyone, but for a child, it can feel especially confusing and lonely. Music offers a soft embrace, a sense of security, and a quiet reminder that they are not alone.

Why the name Music? Just like a gentle melody can soothe the soul, Music is here to provide peace and warmth in sadness. His name also honors the joyful, comforting presence our founder brought into every room he entered.

When a child receives Music, they are not just being given a toy. They are being offered a symbol of love, remembrance, and hope—one that carries with it the heart of our founder’s mission: to care, to comfort, and to walk alongside families through their darkest days.

Music, the Comfort Monkey, is our way of saying, You are seen. You are held. And you are loved.
